About Me

Adrianne Johnson, Eastern WA abstract mixed media artist.

I am an abstract mixed media artist based in Eastern Washington, in the Tri-CIties area.

I make work that begins in vulnerability and wonder. My hope is that when someone encounters these paintings, they feel seen and that they feel something. I want the work to carry raw authenticity and a sense of freedom, offering a space that feels safe enough to be honest, playful, and real.

My process is intuitive and responsive, shaped by curiosity and experimentation rather than certainty. I work with acrylic, pastel, graphite, ink, and collage, allowing layers to build, shift, and sometimes remain unresolved. The work often holds visible traces of play, revision, and risk, marks that are not corrected, but trusted.

Faith is central to my life and quietly present in my practice. It informs the way I approach making: with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to stay with what is unfinished. I’m less interested in answers than in connection, the kind that invites healing, freedom, and a sense of wonder to emerge naturally.

I make this work because it allows me to connect with myself and with others in a way I can’t otherwise. It is healing me. And my hope is that it offers something of that same permission to those who encounter it.
